Description
The 2022 John Deere 676 is a 6-row, row-independent rotary harvesting head built for 8000 series self-propelled forage harvesters (SPFH).
With the 676's row-independent design, you can cut in any direction without worrying about row spacing,
which matters on laid-over crop or when working at an angle to standing rows.
The 676 measures 14.8 ft (4.5 m) in working width and runs a drum configuration of 2 large drums and 2 small drums.
The saw blades cut quickly across the full working width at high rotational speed, allowing harvest regardless of row spacing, and the row-independent design means the field can be worked from any direction, including in down crop conditions.
This unit is configured to the 8000 series standard crop flow channel and includes the Automatic PTO Coupler for mechanical header drive on 8000 and 9000 series machines, making header attachment and detachment fast and repeatable. RowSense automatic steering is included, keeping the header aligned with the crop row and reducing operator fatigue during long harvest days. Fixed crop lifters round out the configuration, helping pick up lodged or low-lying crop.
Beyond corn, the 676 handles sorghum, whole crop silage, oilseed, canola, pampas grass, and miscanthus, giving growers flexibility across multiple crop types without needing a separate header for each.
