The HD45F has a unique hinged frame and flexible cutterbar that allows it to float over uneven ground and rolling terrain, capturing more crop and reducing missed material, especially important for low-pod crops like soybeans and lentils. It offers a total wing range of 40 inches of movement. It uses a double-cut, dual-drive, shaft-driven cutterbar with a 4-inch knife stroke, operating at speeds up to 520 cycles per minute for X-Series combines. The header incorporates advanced features such as electrohydraulic header height sensing, hydraulic suspension, and in-cab header downforce adjustments, reducing operator fatigue and ensuring a consistent stubble height.
