Not Your Average Grain Head. This 30-foot Case IH 1020 is a well-above-average head with a history of major reconditioning and continued upkeep. In 2023, nearly $22,000 in parts was invested in a major reconditioning work order. That work included a reman wobble box, new 30-foot cutterbar, complete new knife assembly, guards, runner supports, skid shoe poly, AHHC sensing pads, auger support and timing components, auger drive and idler sprockets, main drive chain, reel drive support, bearings, bushings, and numerous other components. The head has been harvested with in 2024 and 2025 since that work was completed, so these components are not being represented as new, but the extent of that work adds significant value to this head.
Today, the knife and guards remain serviceable at approximately 50% wear. The center floor section has been recently replaced, the outer floor sections are in very good shape, and the poly floor liner under the auger looks very good. The auger flighting appears straight and it has updated poly fingers in the auger. Reel bats and teeth are straight and uncut, while the reel bushings show only minor wear.
This head is equipped with automatic header height control, Field Tracker, and a single-point hydraulic connection. Both crop dividers are included; the right divider has some bent sheet metal that appears repairable. One cutterbar lockup was accidentally left engaged for the photos, which makes the cutterbar appear uneven, but this is not an indication that the cutterbar itself is bent.
Overall, this is an unusually well-kept 1020 that appears ready for many more acres. With routine greasing, it should be ready to go to the field.
